We raised €576 for Regina's Fight For Life fundraising by hosting an Odd Socks and Shoes Day. The 6th class children also organised a talent show for parents. Thank you to everyone for such kind generosity.

The children were very busy on Friday, the 1st of February. The older children helped the younger children to make crosses so that every home received a nice new St. Brigid's cross. Well done boys and girls.

Miss Maher's class opened the show with: We wish you a Merry Christmas Bualadh Bos A Christmas Poem They were followed by Mrs. Grady's class with: Shotgun as Gaeilge Footloose Ms. Kilcoyne's class told the story of The Grinch who Stole Christmas. The boys and girls told the story beautifully and sang An Chéad Nollaig. They performed Merry Christmas Everyone using lámh hand signs and had some dancers performing too. Lastly, the children from 2nd - 6th class played some traditional Irish music to finish the show. Click the link below to watch a snippet of this music. Maith sibh! We were delighted to take part in the "Let's Make it Happen" fundraising campaign which is being ran by Nicole Loughlin. Nicole is in the process of rasing €11,000 to build a school in Malawi, Africa. Nicole came to visit us in Killeen on Monday, the 10th of December. She showed us photos of her work in Malawi and the plans they have to build the post-primary school in March 2019. We all donated on Christmas Jumper Day and we raised over €240! Well done everyone.
On Friday 7th of December, we were treated to a trip to the cinema in Westport to see "The Grinch". We were very excited as we traveled on a double decker bus. We had a fantastic morning!
On Monday 19th of November, Mrs. Grady and Ms. Kilcoyne showed us a presentation of their Erasmus+ trip to Gijón in Northern Spain. We really enjoyed looking at the photos and hearing all about life in school in Spain. They bought us back some yummy treats too!

Well done to all the boys, girls and families who took part in our pumpkin carving competition. Creativity is well and truly alive in Killeen N.S. Maith sibh!! We are delighted to announce that we will participate in an Erasmus Plus Project with schools from other EU countries. The schools' partnership project is one in which our school is partnered with schools from Spain and Malta to work on a project entitled 'Sharing and Learning Together'. It will take place over two years and will focus on sharing our good practices in Etwinning, inclusion, the use of ICT and new pedagogy.
In November, Bríd Grady and Laura Kilcoyne will travel to host school in Gijón, Spain, where they will meet, collaborate and work on this exciting project with our new European friends! Well done to all the boys and girls who got the
BIG BEACH CLEAN 2018 off to a great start by collecting 15 bags of rubbish on Carrowniskey beach this morning. Thank you to Louise Hastings for meeting us there with plenty of bags, gloves and litter pickers! |
