Over the last few weeks, we have been busy creating models of Monastic Settlements. We have had great fun working together in different groups. We hope you enjoy the results!
It started off with one and then there were two!
We got a lovely surprise yesterday morning, when we discovered that Elfie's friend Holly had joined him all the way from the North Pole. They seem very happy together. We love them so much. By Alana, Luke and Matthew Rocking around the Christmas Tree.......
Have a happy holiday everyone!! x Long ago, people in Ireland would decorate their houses with holly at Christmas. Ms Leonard brought us in some holly from her Granny Bridget's fields. There are lots of berries on these holly trees. It is rare to find berries on the holly bush at this time of year, because the birds usually have them eaten by now! Holly brings good luck.
By Thomas in 4th class On the 1st of December, Elfie Bell appeared in our classroom. We left lots of notes for Elfie, which he has answered over the last few weeks. It has been lots of fun trying to find him every morning. We will miss him when he goes back to the North Pole.
We had lots of fun making Rudolph decorations for our Christmas tree. We are getting super excited about Christmas!
We have been learning about the famous Italian explorer Christopher Columbus. We created models of his ships - The Nina, The Pinta and The Santa Maria. We made up a rhyme to help us to remember the year in which he discovered America!
'In 1492, Do you know it's true? Christopher in America, Columbus he was too!' |
