She collected THREE black sacks of roadside rubbish, mainly coffee cups, lucozade bottles and farm feed bags.
Well done Niamh and co 👏 Please send us in your litter pick photos and tell us what you found on the roadsides. Remember you must have an ADULT with you ; ) Send your photos and message to barbara@killeenns.com 🚯 The roadsides are FULL of litter.
Please help us to clean them up. Get a bag and a high-vis from one of The Green Team. Don't forget to have an ADULT with you! 🧓 Pick some rubbish near your house. Bring it back to us in the school and Mayo Co. Co will collect it. Let's try to do this for the rest of February.📅 Before the grass starts growing again. 🌿 Every little bit we do helps the world. 🌎 AND THAT IS GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP. Thank you! We have learned, with the help of google, how to read our complicated electricity meter.
This is located just inside the main door of the school. We are reading the meter to help us understand how many units of electricity we use in the school. Matthew is in charge of reading the meter. Stay tuned for meter readings...... The Green Team carried out a survey on 50 pupils in the school. We asked everybody the same 6 questions. You can see the total of the answers here. Then, we made pie charts to display the results. These results have been posted on to our Green School's notice board.
What did we find out? We are pretty good on knowing what climate change can mean, but we are a little unsure as to how we can help to reduce climate change. The Green Team are here to help us all find out! Our green schools committee is made up of one student from each class. Barbara is the staff representative. We picked a student from each class with the wheel spinner.
