We did this in our green-school's groups over the course of two weeks. It was tricky as we wanted something short, smart and catchy. Once all the entries were submitted, staff (who had no involment in green-schools) chose the winning green code. The entries were fantastic so six winners were chosen. You will find them displayed all around our school with green tips for everyone. The junior infants made these penguins who live in the Antarctica. Visit from the Climate Action Officer Caroline Goucher who works with Mayo County Council.</font><br /><font color="#248d6c">2. We designed the front page of the Mayo News for the year 2037.</font><br /><font color="#248d6c">3. We formed the words "Climate Action Killeen" in the junior yard with our bodies - this was tricky but great fun!</font><br /><font color="#248d6c">4. We learned a little about bees in Ireland.</font><br /><font color="#248d6c">5. Movie Screening</font><br /><font color="#248d6c">- Junior&amp;Senior Infants watched the movie "Over the Hedge"</font><br /><font color="#248d6c">-1st-6th Class watched the documentary "Disney Nature's-Earth"</font><br /><font color="#248d6c">6. The pupils were very pleased to choose their own aspect of biodiversity and create a costume based on it. &nbsp;Due to weather conditions, the parade did not go ahead in Louisburgh town. This was also completed in January 2017 so we were re-visiting it to look for improvements. The children and staff had to try to identify each item of flora and fauna on the sheet. The results were interesting and we noticed great improvements. Nobody could correctly identify each one, although 2 pupils got a fantastic score of 27 out of 30.&nbsp; 50% of the participants were able to correctly identify 16 items or less. 82% of the participants were able to correctly identify half of the flora and fauna.
